Viessmann Gas Boiler Installation with Smart Heating Control

DCR was appointed to replace an incorrectly installed existing Viessmann gas boiler at a Leicestershire cottage. The client wanted a correctly installed, reliable heating system with modern, easy-to-use controls, while retaining a sympathetic appearance within the property.

The project involved the removal and replacement of the existing boiler, upgrades to associated heating system components and the installation of new intelligent, app-based controls.

The Client Challenge

The existing boiler installation required replacement, with the previous cupboard having been constructed around the original appliance. This created restricted access and meant that simply replacing the boiler would not provide the best finished result.

The client also wanted improved control over their heating system, with modern smart controls that could be programmed and managed remotely.

Our Solution

DCR’s domestic gas boiler engineers carried out the complete boiler replacement, installing a Viessmann Vitodens 100 A-rated condensing boiler in the existing boiler location. A new horizontal flue was installed, the gas supply was altered to suit the new appliance and the condensate was connected to the existing drainage system.The heating system was flushed and digitally sampled, with system protection provided through Adey MC1+ inhibitor and a MagnaClean Professional system filter.

To complete the installation, DCR’s in-house joinery team designed and built a new cupboard around the replacement boiler. This provided improved access to the new installation while creating a neat, purpose-built finish within the cottage.

New heating controls were also installed, including EPH programmable smart controls with app-based functionality, giving the homeowner greater flexibility and control of their heating.

The electrical and control works were completed by DCR’s in-house NICEIC electrical team, including new system wiring, wiring centre, motorised valves and circulation pump.

The Result

The completed project delivered a professionally installed Viessmann gas boiler system with modern smart controls, providing the client with improved heating control and a clean, high-quality finish.

By combining our domestic gas engineers, electrical team and in-house joiners, DCR was able to manage the installation as a complete solution, overcoming the restricted access and existing cupboard limitations without relying on multiple contractors.

The new Viessmann boiler was supplied with a 12-year manufacturer’s warranty, alongside DCR’s 3-year workmanship warranty, subject to annual servicing.
