Complete Oil Heating System Upgrade

DCR were appointed to replace an existing oil-fired boiler and oil tank at a rural property in Leicestershire. The existing boiler had reached the end of its economical working life, leaving the client with no viable alternative other than a complete heating system replacement.

The project included the installation of a new high-efficiency Warmflow Agentis oil combination boiler, a new bunded oil storage tank and the relocation of the oil supply. DCR’s in-house building team also constructed the new concrete base required for the replacement oil tank.

The Client Challenge

The existing oil boiler was beyond economic repair, meaning replacement was the only practical solution. As the boiler provided the property’s heating and hot water, it was essential that the work was completed efficiently, safely and with minimal disruption.

With multiple installations taking place during the same week, careful planning and coordination were required to ensure the project progressed as a streamlined process while maintaining the high level of customer service DCR prides itself on.

Our Solution

DCR supplied and installed a Warmflow Agentis I33C Pro high-efficiency A-rated oil combination boiler, installed in the existing boiler location with a new Warmflow flue.

A new Kingspan Titan plastic bunded oil tank was installed in a new location on a purpose-built concrete base constructed by DCR’s building team. The existing oil supply was safely relocated, with new oil pipework, isolation valve, filter and fire valve installed. The new oil line was fully tightness tested on completion.

The installation was completed in accordance with relevant OFTEC requirements, with the new system commissioned and registered with both OFTEC and Warmflow.

• New Kingspan Titan ES2500B bunded oil tank

• Relocation of oil storage and oil supply

• Adey Magnaclean system filter

• Digital water testing and certification

• New EPH CP4i wireless programmable thermostats for two heating zones

• In-house NICEIC electrical team completing control wiring

• Full system commissioning and registration with OFTEC and Warmflow

• Removal and recycling of installation waste

The new controls can connect to the homeowner’s Wi-Fi, allowing the heating to be controlled remotely via a mobile phone or tablet.

Project Challenges & Results

The key challenge was delivering a complete oil boiler replacement and oil tank relocation quickly and efficiently while coordinating the work alongside DCR’s other scheduled installations.

Through careful planning and a streamlined installation process, our heating, electrical and building teams worked together to get the property back up and running as quickly as possible.

The client now benefits from a modern, high-efficiency Warmflow oil combi boiler, new oil storage and improved heating controls, backed by DCR’s workmanship warranty and ongoing servicing and aftercare.

The Warmflow boiler carries a manufacturer’s 10-year all-component and heat-exchanger warranty, while DCR provide a 3-year workmanship warranty, subject to annual servicing by DCR.
