What the customer said: "We had been planning to have air source heating with solar panels for several years but struggled to find anyone we had confidence in to do the job. A chance encounter with DCR personnel attending a boiler problem in our village church led me to ask them to visit our home, a 70's detached house with basic insulation and an open fire, to discuss options for replacing our 35 year old oil fired boiler. Lewis Morley, one of the directors, spent some time listing our options from a replacement oil fired boiler to a complete switch to air source heating with solar panels on our house and garage with a large battery to capture electricity generated by the panels for use during the night or for selling energy back to the grid. Having decided to get more information about the latter option Lewis arranged for a colleague who specialised in the installation of solar panels to visit to speak to us. We spent a lot of time studying the detailed information about the amount of energy we could reasonably expect to generate and the costings of various options. We rang and emailed various team members for clarification of items and were always able to get through to someone who could help or else had a returned call the same day. One big advantage of DCR is that they have a large enough team to do all the installations of equipment, the electrics and the building work and in early February 2025 our work began. Despite some pretty inclement weather the entire system was installed and running by the end of the first week and we had a functioning heating system. In this time they had organised scaffolding for the house and garage, stripped out our old boiler, oil tank and hot water tank, replaced a hot water header tank in our loft which was found to be leaking, fitted 18 solar panels on our house roof and 12 on the garage (necessitating digging channels across our lawn and drive) as well as removing all our old radiators and replacing them with much more efficient ones. At one point I counted 9 different people working flat out to get the job done. During this time everyone was helpful and polite, involving and informing us at every step, respectful of our property and those of our neighbours and were totally professional throughout. Because our old heating was out of action for about four days we were provided with oil filled portable radiators. The second week was more relaxed and various members of the crew returned to finish off and tidy up residual tasks and ensure the system was working well and that we were happy with all the new controls. By the end of week two everything was as good as or better than new and we were very cosy with our new heating, and endless hot water, amazed at how well our panels were generating and delighted with the clearing up process which even included hosing and scrubbing our driveway. As well an excellent installation team the backroom staff at DCR were also very helpful, kind, patient, reassuring and professional on every occasion. In summary we could not be happier with the way everything went and would certainly recommend DCR." Tony Watts
